Description

A spectacular vehicle, powered only by a normal household mouse-trap. It works by having a lever on the mouse-trap with a thread wound around a driven rear pulley. The thread around the pulley tensions the mouse-trap spring so that the vehicle can use the energy to run!! Ready steady go! The spring closes slowly and the unwinding thread powers the rear wheel,setting the vehicle in motion. This project has lots of experimental possibilities: What can I do to make it run ... as far as possible? ... as fast as possible over a given distance? Suitable for races. Which model will run the furthest distance. Which has the best design etc? Complete pack including mouse-trap detail plans and hints and tips on tuning your model. Skills required: drilling, sawing, filing and glueing. Vehicle length 630 mm, rear wheel ø 250 mm Distance: it will travel approx. 16 m.
